Odd title, isn’t it? I was sitting around watching the animal channel on cable, something about the ‘Monster Inside Me’, a show about disgusting parasites that invade your body, while keeping a eye on twitter on my computer. @MNHeadhunter said ‘Please someone in Minneapolis get a pic of this amazing sky/sunset … ‘. Looked outside and saw a cool sunset indeed, as we often get after some severe weather moves through the area. So grabbed camera and headed to top of hill where I have a great view looking out west. Here’s there result.

Met up with Mitchster and Dusty yesterday afternoon at the Duplex on Hennepin for a couple of beers and a light snack. Afterwards we went for a long walk around Lake Calhoun getting a variety of photos. Took us almost three hours I think. Didn’t seem that long at all as we had a great time chit chatting about photography and blogging, with plenty of photo stops. Look forward to the next time.

Visited the Uptown Art Fair on Saturday. Lots of photography exhibits, both on Hennepin and on the side street leading down towards Calhoun. Inspiring to see all those fine photographs. One exhibit that particularly stuck out was the work of Xavier Nuez. He specializes in night photography, alleys and other dark places. Many of his shots contain grafitti, a favorite of mine but hard to find in the Twin Cities. His shots are done using film, with exposures up to 90 minutes, augmented with additional lighting. Some truly amazing photos.
