Or more appropriately Minnehaha Trickle? For the time being anyway. Not to long ago kids were splashing around in the pool formed by a wide bend in the creek just a bit upstream from this spot, but at the end of the season the creek starts drying up. In a couple or three months the trickle going over the falls will freeze into a display of massive icicles, a popular view during the winter months.
Nature does not need much to put on a great display of colors. A seed in the ground grows up to be a tree, requiring only water, oxygen, nutrients from the soil, and of course sunlight. Contrast that with all the materials and energy humans use to create a building such as the Guthrie Theater. Both are equally pleasing to the eye, and complementary of each other.
