Minnehaha Creek

Or more appropriately Minnehaha Trickle? For the time being anyway. Not to long ago kids were splashing around in the pool formed by a wide bend in the creek just a bit upstream from this spot, but at the end of the season the creek starts drying up. In a couple or three months the trickle going over the falls will freeze into a display of massive icicles, a popular view during the winter months.

Its starting to be a bit chilly in the morning. Refreshing. Only 2-3 weeks left before all the leaves are down except for the Buckthorn, which normally end up dropping their leaves on top of the snow.
Nature Versus Humans

Nature does not need much to put on a great display of colors. A seed in the ground grows up to be a tree, requiring only water, oxygen, nutrients from the soil, and of course sunlight. Contrast that with all the materials and energy humans use to create a building such as the Guthrie Theater. Both are equally pleasing to the eye, and complementary of each other.
