Tall Ships
by snapshutter on Aug.01, 2008, under Uncategorized
Went up to Duluth to get some shots of the tall ships visiting for the Maritime festival. As I suspected the tall ships were surrounded by a collection of of boats making it impossible to get any clean shots. This picture is the Pride of Baltimore II, coming in to dock. It has working cannons, which were fired (blanks of course) a few times on its way into and in the harbor.
I Seeee You

I suppose if your life consisted of eating, trying not to be eaten, and you know that other thing, this is the look you’d have on your face if you saw some giant monster with single eye as large as your body staring at you from a few feet away. BTW, do frogs have teeth?
Doggy’s Life

The latest addition to our family, Bear, after enjoying a doggy ice cream treat on a hot day. He was found in a barn in Iowa, apparently having been abused. Through a chain of transfers he’s ended up with us. Being a dog (with corresponding dog brain) he’ll never realize just how lucky he is. We’ve been through a few dogs, always with the same outcome, the day you have to put them down. He’ll have a happy life up to that moment. But we won’t think about that ending for a decade or so. Hopefully he’ll soon stop trying to ‘escape’.
A Long Time Ago

This picture was taken over three decades ago with 35mm Pentax, my main camera at the time. I almost exclusively shot B&W. A group of us was traveling to Mexico as part of a Christian youth program. It was quite the experience, four weeks in Mexico in various Cities ranging from Zihuatenejo to Mexico City.
Don’t know who the girl was. If you know her leave a comment.
Last Bottle

On overtime in the middle of winter. When we do these overtime stints I normally do most of it on the weekends. Just can’t handle sitting in the same chair for 11+hrs to try to get it in during weekdays. So to make it feel not quite like a weekday I do little photo shoots on the way home. This one is a self portrait taken in a parking area under a bridge. Took about 20 shots. Reviewing them at home none of them looked interesting except for this one, staring at an empty bottle laying on ground. One of my colleagues said ‘looks like an album cover’. Hehe, guess I should write a song.
