Eyes

Leaving my camera laying around or set up on a tripod is always tempting for the junior photographer of the house. Sometimes I find photos on the memory card I know I didn’t take, like this one. She actually takes some pretty interesting pictures. Young minds are not bound by rules.

Lollipop Kid

Jerry Maren, one of the dozen or so surviving Munchkins from the Wizard of Oz, at an appearance in the Columbia Heights theater. He was one of the three Lederhosen (sorta) guys (in the center) that sang ‘We represent … the Lollipop guild … the Lollipop guild … the Lollipop guild …‘. in front of Dorothy after she landed on the wicked witch’s house and the good witch showed up.

Renaissance Faire

I went to the Minnesota Renaissance Fair last Sunday, looking for some good photo subjects, both scenery and people wise. Spotted these three lovely young ladies and they kindly let me take some photos of them. Not till after a couple of shots did I find out they weren’t part of the fair, but just visitors like me and the family. Based on their clothing I had assumed they were part of the fair’s cast of characters that roam around the grounds. This is the first of a series of fair photos I’ll be posting.

Swinging At Lake Calhoun

No, not that kind of swinging. I got this shot on one of my bike rides around the lakes. Asked the guy on the right if it would be OK for me to take some photos. He said something I took as a yes (don’t think English was his first language). As I got done, another guy walked up to me and asked me what I was doing. Kids dad. After explaining to him that I was taking silhouettes he said OK. Just being protective, the way he’s supposed to be.
