Underpass

Got this shot during an early morning walk to the beach in Singapore. One thing about Singapore that’s always impressed me is the cleanliness of the city, including underpasses such as this. Anyone whose been in one of those in a typical large city knows that sometimes they can get a bit dingy.

Dark, light, shadows, texture…it is ALL there. I have never been to Singapore, but your photos make me want to put it on my list of places I’d like to visit.!

That is a very interesting shot. You were so lucky to get it without people.

I really like this one.
I guess it’s why it’s known as a “fine” city!

What a great photo of light and contrasts, good symmetry and textures.

I love the viewpoint you took this from; it’s really enhanced the perspective. Were you lying down? …and I see what you mean about the cleanliness, it puts the rest of us to shame :(
Great shot.

like walking into infinity. This reminds me, we should do a night shoot soon. I’m thinking maybe St. Paul somewhere around Rice Park.

I have come back to look at this image a few times now. There are so many things that stand out to me. I agree with you that the cleanliness of this is amazing. It is almost unreal considering the size of the city and the fact that this almost looks brand new and freshly cleaned.
The lighting and shadows of this shot give great depth and texture while the focal point coming down to lower center of the image brings you in further.
This is a fun one all the way around. I agree with Rob. A night shoot should be in our near future.

I’ve also come back to this shot several times. It really draws me in.

What? No graffiti! Ha ha…
I actually feel quite uneasy when it’s too safe!
Good shot.

Hi,
Many thanks for visiting TORUĊ DAILY PHOTO and for your comment about the beautiful sky.
As for your photo…all I can say is wow! You have managed to do the unthinkable…make an ugly underpass seem a work of art. Really beautiful! Well done!
