The picture is self explanatory. The Germans take their environment pretty serious, and this sign is for the ‘Ecology Democratic Party’, one of the many political parties . Personally I wish we had a multi party system over here. Sure there’s the potential for grid lock, but on the other hand it forces parties to form coalitions if they want any of their agenda implemented. Everyone gets some of what they want.

Yes, I agree that the multi-party system can sometimes work, although all the horse-trading can sometimes mean that things don’t get done. Over here, I’m hoping for a Lib-Lab government at the next general election though.

Hi! We´ve in germany a “big coalition” between the christian-democratic-party and the social-democratic-party since many years and thats the reason for stagnancy in all things of life. The big 2 (of 5 partys) get no majority and thats not good and our politicans have to make compromises. On Sept. 27th is the next bundestags-election and many many people here saying: I`m not going to vote, it´s senseless and all politicans are lying. Our multi-party system is´nt working with 5 partys. Sorry for my english and greetings from germany to the twincities!!!
