Oh, I love it!! I haven’t been able to find a rainbow in months and you get two at the same time!! You must be doing something right! Whatever, you take a fabulous photo!
That is stunning! I am in awe! And I am jealous. :)
I saw two very bright rainbows some weeks ago, and I didn’t have my camera. I am still trying to forgive myself!
Awesome shot!
Oh my gosh…I am so jealous! I’ve never seen a double rainbow and I would LOVE to! This is spectacular and I never knew the colors are reversed! Beautiful!
Neil and all, whereas the first rainbow is due to the light entering the rain drops and reflecting off the back of the rain drops and then coming out (essentially towards you), having refracted 3 times (entrance, reflection, exit), the second rainbow is due to the light reflecting twice within the rain drops before coming back out. You can have additional rainbows as a portion of the light continues to reflect back and forth within the rain drops before exiting, but the amount of light left get progressively less. For more check here.
Dramatic scene and lighting! Gorgeous…and, no I did not know about the order of colors on a second rainbow. I have photographed several doubles but never noticed that…I will go back into my archives and check that out to make sure you rainbow isn’t just special!! HaHa

Great picture. I never realized that they were reversed. We don’t get to see doubles very often. Thanks for sharing.
