Shelf Cloud Over Cirque du Soleil
Couple of days ago this cloud descended over the Cirque du Soleil, currently performing in St. Paul. Not much happened in the immediate area, but unfortunately a young girl was killed by lightning from this storm about 30 miles east of this spot.

That is a CRAZY shot SS. Very well captured.
I was stunned to hear about the girl being killed. I guess it is more common than I realize…. but you just do not think of it happening.
Anyway this picture is very ominous and cool.

So sad about the little girl. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. How tragic.
Lightning is so very dangerous. That cloud sure is threatening.

The picture is spectacular that’s also a harbinger of unpleasant news about the death of a young girl struck by a lightning.

I have only very recently come across this kind of cloud and it is so amazing and so very intimidating. Great shot!

Truly frightening! So sorry about the little girl. Lightning strikes are so common in Florida…
I remember seeing something like this at Lake Minnetonka many years ago…a tornado spawned and took out part of a forest and most of a small town.
This is one very impressive photograph!

I’m sad to hear that someone was killed by lightening from that cloud. Luckily that does not happen often.
