loadingdock These loading docks obviously are no longer in use. I found these riding around on my bike looking for a good view of the Cirque du Soleil which was performing this weekend. Couldn’t find one. I did go up to the front gate and walked into the fenced in area, and being a good citizen photographer asked an employee/guard if it was OK to take photos, just of the tents. He told me I needed a press pass because I had a ‘big camera’, which I could pick up at the main (employee) gate. I did point out to him there where other people with ‘big cameras’ but for some reason he couldn’t see them. On a whim I biked over to the employee gate, knowing that wasn’t going anywhere, and was met by a couple of Asia Security guards. Lets just say they looked like they hadn’t slept for a while, and weren’t in a friendly mood. I told them ‘good job’ and moved on :)

Wonder why it is people who see a SLR camera automatically assume we are professional or press photographers?

I love the shot above. Grabs my attention with the “texture” of the area, especially the ceiling

You have just made what I am sure is an ugly structure look almost beautiful. Your image is a wonderful work of art.

Some of my friends with DSLRs have the same problem, while I usually can take photos with impunity :)

I’m glad you didn’t risk it.

Looks like ancient ruins, and looks great.

Cool pic! wish I could have joined you. Next time. Now you got me thinking about covert photoshoots. Keep the DSLR camera in the bag and approach the employee/guard with a point and shoot camera in hand.

Daryl, thats corrosion type seepage on the ceiling.

  8. Your shot is surreal and realistic at the same time. Like a scenery of a game! Wonderful!

Those pillars, the proportions, the feeling of age and those colours make a superb photograph. I really love the shot. Whilst you see it’s just dirty it gives the feel of old marble.
