Barrel To Barrel
Have some shots straight into the barrel, but think that would make some uneasy to look at. Obviously I trust this guy, otherwise I wouldn’t be standing in front of this black powder rifle. They’re as deadly as as regular rifles, and almost as easy to make mistakes with if you’re not paying attention.

Great photo. Were you worried the gun would go off?

What a cool shot. Interesting RogerB has a shot of creating lead shot for muskets.

Prospero, no I wasn’t worried. I’ve known the gunner for a very long time. Even though loading a black powder rifle is a fairly laborious process and thus hard to ‘accidentally’ arm, ‘forgotten’ loads have happened.

No, no, no. Trust has nothing to do with it.
Please, next time put your camera on a tripod and use a remote!
Yikes! I’m a shooter and I get the willies just looking at this!

This is a crazy shot. I gotta tell ya that it made me flinch even looking at it….. and I could not do that for very long.
It is an incredible pic….. and draws an immediate and quite defined response. I think that’s what it is all about in some cases. Very well done….. although I don’t think I can look at it again now.

Now that is what I call shooting. You really caught me off guard with this. One of the most startling images I have ever seen.
