12 Apostles
A little break from all the train photos. This photo was taken off the southern coast of Australia, along the Great Ocean Road, with one of my first digital cameras, a Canon G3. The twelve apostles are a series of sliver islands (or rocks), some of them pointing like needles into the sky. Forgive the blown highlights, but its a near impossible shot into the sun across water.

What an incredibly beautiful place.

That’s such a fascinating rock formation, and the name is quite appropriate too.
I think it’s a beautiful shot, given the conditions. The mist surrounding the rocks is especially lovely.

Awesome layers here.
It’s really beautiful to look at those mountains and see the “gradient” of their color slowly changes as farther away they are.

Mysterious. Actually, I think the blown out highlights add to the mystery of this photo.

I’ve never been to Australia, but this is the best photo I’ve seen of the 12 Apostles! Just awesome!
