Foshay Reflection
by snapshutter on Sep.23, 2008, under Twin Cities
Another shot from our Foshay visit. The Foshay Tower of course used to be the tallest building in town, but that was a long time ago. It doesn’t have the flare of some of the newer buildings surrounded it, but it does have what in the old country is called gemütlichkeit.
Inside The Foshay Tower
by snapshutter on Sep.22, 2008, under Twin Cities

Some shots from inside of the Foshay Tower. The first two are from the museum just below the observation deck at the 30rd floor. The other two are from the street level entrance to the W hotel. The colors in the reception area really are that vivid, no photo enhancing whatsoever. The staff was quite friendly and accommodating, allowing a bunch of photogs up to the observation deck without questions.
Which Way?

Went to the top of the Foshay Tower (great suggestion Diane) with some fellow photoblogers Roaming the Cities, Dusty Lens, Mitchster, and Micky, a friend of Dusty. Took tons of pictures well into dark, and then stopped for a bite to eat, some beer, coffee, or water, depending on who you were, in a restaurant with outdoor seating at ground level. Seem to recall the place used to be called Brothers. After a bit of friendly conversation following our meal some called it an evening and Dusty, Micky, and I continued for a treck down Hennepin Avenue.
I’m still reviewing all the shots but one that looks interesting is the top of one of the many parking ramps visible from the Foshay Tower. Appears a bit confusing to me. I can just imagine Chevy Chase and family in station wagon, aunt strapped to the top, getting stuck up there trying to find a way out. Wait, forget the aunt. She’d probably get knocked off the top of the wagon on the way up.
Winter Will Come Soon Enough

Some of my fellow photobloggers have been changing their home page photos, so I just can’t resist. This one will come back once the snow arrives.
