Stone Arch Bridge At Night
Aug.10, 2008

Went for an evening shoot down at the St. Anthony Main with a fellow Twin Cities Photoblogger and some members of a local photo group. Great weather, pleasant company, and a relaxed atmosphere made this a very enjoyable evening.

Marvelous shot, I wish I had framed a shot similar to this. What a hidden gem this pot turned out to be. I had a great time, I hope we can do this again some time. Thanks!

Better! Easier. Now tell me how you get those arches all perfect like that? Tripod and leave the shutter open awhile?

Good, should have done that sooner. On the arches I did some cropping until I had just what I wanted. We were all using tripods. The exposure metering system of the camera will keep the shutter open as long as it takes (up to 30 seconds on mine). Most of my shots were in the 4 to 30 second range. I suspect your camera would do something similar. You can find out by pointing it at something really dark close to the lens in a low light room, and see how long the exposure ends up being.
